The Gays

8 months ago I left for a trip that would end up changing my life in every single way possible. I was scared, lonely, and confused when I left and now I feel happier and more empowered then ever. I discovered isolation and my authentic self in costa rica, furthered that experience and coupled it with immense happiness and love in Rio, and continued on my truth seeking journey through the cities of Europe. I made life long friends, got my first taste of love, sun bathed on Ipanema beach, went dolphin watching in costa rica, hitchhiked for the first time to a beachside town in the jungle, and saw major cities in Europe. I loved, I cried, I laughed, I wondered, I saw, I conquered. This has been the most beautiful, complex, amazing, intense experience of my life and I wouldn’t change one minute of it. It opened my eyes to the world and helped me to realize that we are all the same at the end of the day. Prejudices, borders, and cultural barriers are all things that can be broken down by traveling or more understood. I am so full of gratitude to the universe, my parents, and the people I met for changing my life in such an amazing way. Life is truly but a dream.

When someone is crying, of course, the noble thing to do is to comfort them. But if someone is trying to hide their tears, it may also be noble to pretend you do not notice them.

I detest the masculine point of view. I am bored by his heroism, virtue, and honour. I think the best these men can do is not talk about themselves anymore.

All the Hollywood bullshit and accolades and money really doesn’t matter. It just gives you a slightly nicer house and slightly nicer food and slightly shinier hair. - Emmy Rossum for Esquire Magazine January 2014
